Leiper's Fork is Great For Tennessee Trips From Nashville
Your list of Tennessee trips from Nashville would be incomplete without the small town of Leiper’s Fork. Located about 30 miles south of Nashville, don’t blink too long as you drive through the town or you may miss it. But don’t let the small size fool you, what the town is lacking in size it makes up for in character. You won’t want to miss this stop if you’re driving south of Nashville.

THREE Worth It Things to Do on Your Tennessee Trips to Leiper's Fork
Leiper’s Fork Distillery
I toured this Distillery on a whim and was super impressed with all I learned in the one-hour tour (thanks Phil)! Distilling whiskey is no joke, actually a true science, and Leiper’s Fork Distillery makes it look like Tennessee fun! The tasting room and gift shop are housed in a beautiful 200-year-old historic building next to the distillery on the property. Every bit of the building hosts some element of its historical presence, right down to the repurposed boards that make up the tasting bar. There’s also an outdoor bar on the property, so make sure to leave some time to kick back in the Tennessee sunshine and have a taste of their amazing small-batch hand-crafted whiskey!
Fox & Locke
Fox & Locke is a live music venue serving up southern food and loads of Tennessee fun with live shows happening every evening Wednesday – Saturday. Evening shows require tickets, as do the Thursday night Open Mic Nights, so use this linkand plan ahead, you won’t be disappointed! Up-and-coming artists love this venue, and occasionally a Grammy-winning star will drop in as well. Great entertainment and great food and drink, what else could you ask for when taking Tennessee trips?
Shop Shop Shop
So when you’re not touring the Leiper’s Fork Distillery or catching some live entertainment at the Fox & Locke, what else is there to do in Leiper’s Fork? You’re gonna get your shopping on, that’s what! Between shops and galleries (click here for a list), there are around a dozen places to spend your money shopping, and they are definitely worth the trip, especially if you add in a stop at Fox & Locke or Leiper’s Fork Distillery!
FOUR More Things to Know Before You Go:
I highly suggest that you don’t plan your Tennessee trips to Leiper’s Fork on a Monday or Tuesday because you may find little to nothing open, depending on the season. You’ve been warned!
There’s parking in the Leiper’s Fork Church of Christ lot, but just know that it is paid parking and, in my opinion, kind of expensive (I paid $12 for 4 hours). There’s also a small amount of parking around the shops and restaurants, but on a busy day it’s going to be tough to get, so be prepared to pay.
On the small stretch of Old Hillsboro Road between the Church of Christ (parking) and David Arms Gallery, there are literally 2 places to eat – Fox & Locke as mentioned earlier, and directly across the street from them sets The Country Boy Restaurant, a diner’s diner. The diner is open until 2:00 pm almost every day, so that’s your in-town shot for food on a Monday or Tuesday.
While you’re in Leiper’s Fork you can bike or drive part of the beautiful and historic Natchez Trace Parkway. Follow this link for the 27-mile loop option.
